How to Resize Taskbar in Windows 11

The Windows 11 taskbar is designed to be modern and streamlined, but some users may find its default size too large or too small for their preferences. Fortunately, you can adjust the taskbar's height to better suit your needs. Below, we’ll guide you through the most effective method to to resize the taskbar in Windows 11.

Change Taskbar size using the Registry Editor

Step 1. Open the Registry Editor

Hit the Win key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box, and then enter regedit in it. Click Yes if prompted by User Account Control (UAC).

Step 2. Navigate to the key

On the interface of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key by expanding the folders on the left-side pane relatively one-by-one.

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Step 3. Create a new value

Look for a value named “TaskbarSi” from the right side menu.

If there’s not any, right-click the Advanced key and select New > DWORD(32-bit) Value to create it first. Then name the new value “TaskbarSi”.

Step 4. Change the value data

Double-click TaskbarSi to edit its value data by entering 0 or 2 in the box. After changing, click OK on the Edit DWORD window to exit.

  • 0: reduce the size
  • 1: return to default
  • 2: increase the size

Step 5. Reboot the PC

Once done, close the Registry Editor and restart your PC.
