How to regain the Wi-Fi icon on the Taskbar

Step 1. Add Wi-Fi to Quick Settings

The first and easiest thing you need to do is to add the Wi-Fi icon to the Quick Settings menu:

  • Click the Internet assess icon on the Taskbar.
  • And then click the Edit quick settings icon from the bottom right which looks like a pen.
  • Next, click the + Add button and choose the Wi-Fi option.
  • Once done, click Done, and your Wi-Fi icon will appear in the Quick Settings of the Taskbar.

Step 2. Enable the Wi-Fi adapter

If the step above does not solve your problem, then your Wi-Fi Network Adapter might possibly be disabled or uninstalled for no reason. Here’ s how to enable it:

  • Right-click on the Network icon on the desktop and select Properties to open the Network and Sharing Center.
  • There, Click Change adapter settings in the left pane to view all the installed network devices.
  • Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select Enabled.

NOTE: if your Wi-Fi adapter is enabled, first disable it and then enable it. This helps reload the adapter from the RAM and regain your missing Wi-Fi icon.

Step 3. Diagnose network problems

Normally, the Wi-Fi icon should be regained after you enable the Wi-Fi adapter. If this doesn’t work, there might be some other problems with the network. We suggest you Diagnose network problems as follow:

  • Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter again and select Diagnose. Windows will attempt to identify and troubleshoot any issues with the Wi-Fi adapter and network connectivity.
