The Windows 11 Search bar on the taskbar is a powerful tool, but its "Search Highlights" feature can be a source of distraction for many. By disabling web results and highlights from search, you can keep your searches local and distraction-free. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to disable Search Highlights and reclaim a clean, focused search experience.
Press Win + I on your keyboard to open the Windows Settings app.

On the left-hand sidebar, select Privacy & security.

Scroll down and click on the Search option under Windows Permissions.

Locate the Show search highlights option and toggle the switch of it to Off.

That's it! The moment you toggle it off, the Search Highlights are no longer visible from the Search menu on your Taskbar. The icon will revert to a simple magnifying glass, and clicking it can help you find what's on your PC faster without the noise of the internet.
